I'll refer to two bands here without explanation - Studio Room and Sister Cain. These were two bands that Warren was part of in the late 80s and early 90s. Studio Room was formed in Brisbane. The band moved to Melbourne in late 1989 to improve the opportunity to play their own music, as Brisbane was very much a 'cover-band' scene at the time. I went down with the band as their lighting engineer and "official band computer systems officer". Warren and I shared a room while I was there. I moved back to Brisbane when I was offered a contract - intending to go back when the contract finished... It never really did! This photo was taken at around the same time as the one above. We were on our way back from the Gold Coast, where Studio Room had played support for the UK band Underworld. |

Another one from the Underworld support gig - in the carpark before we left to come back to Brisbane. |
A bit later now. This one was taken in Warren's bedroom in the house at Glen Iris, where everyone from Studio Room lived when the band first moved to Melbourne (with the exception of the drummer, Andrew, who was married and lived with his wife.) I think this would be about 1990. Notice that Warren's hair has grown somewhat :) |

The same vintage as the one above. |
Ditto. Here, Waz is playing his fretless Fender bass. It had a real nice sound! |

Another one of Warren with the fretless Fender. |
This one is later again. This is out the back of the house at Richmond where the band moved during the Sister Cain era. By the way, Warren's a bit of a gardener - those plants were ones he was tending - he and I occasionally trimmed the hedges at Glen Iris! (I'll bet that bit of trivia doesn't get much publicity!) |

Another shot of the same setting as above. As you might guess, Warren wanted photos of the guitar! |

This one is my favourite. This was about 1992 - Warren drove from Melbourne to Brisbane, non-stop, to pick me up and we drove back to Melbourne together. This is somewhere in New South Wales I think - we'd slept in the car overnight, but I think Warren still needed a bit more sleep! |
